  • Gasshuku July 2024 – Igarashi Sensei

    De La Salle College

    It is with great pleasure that we announce that JKA HQ Instructor Igarashi Sensei, the 2023 All Japan JKA Kumite Champion, will be coming to Malta for the first time in July! All JKA and non JKA members are welcome to join us on the 20th and 21st of July at De La Salle College.

  • JKA WF Malta at Funakoshi Gichin 16th JKA World Cup

    In October 2024 nine JKA WF Malta members travelled to Japan for two weeks to train with some of the most exceptional Japanese JKA Instructors and Karatekas at the JKA Headquarters Autumn Camp and also to participate at the much awaited Funakoshi Gichin 16th JKA World Cup.

  • Izumiya Seizo Sensei – Gasshuku Nov 2024

    The JKA WF Malta Winter Gasshuku, held from 30th November to 1st December, was a remarkable success.

    Led by Izumiya Sensei, an 8th Dan JKA HQ Instructor, the event saw the participation of over 100 attendees from JKA Clubs in Malta, as well as visitors from JKA Germany and JKA Portugal.

  • Keiko Osame 2024

    On December 19th, the Keiko Osame of JKA WF Malta was held, marking the last training session of the year. Participants from all JKA WF Malta Dojos—JKA Honbu, JKA Kenshinkan, JKA Rendokan, JKA Nakama, JKA Yuushinkan, and JKA Seishukan—gathered to give their best efforts in a Kata Challenge, focusing on Taikyoku Shodan.

  • 2nd Mid-Winter Training – Kangeiko 2025

    Between the 3rd and 5th of January 2025, JKA WF Malta held its 2nd Mid Winter Training - Kangeiko; a Japanese Budo Tradition of training early in the morning during the coldest time of the year. This year Kangeiko was held over 3 days with around 60 members taking on the challenge.

  • 2nd All Malta JKA National Championships, January 2025

    On Sunday, 26th January, the 2nd All Malta JKA National Championships took place at De La Salle College, bringing together participants from JKA clubs across Malta. This prestigious event featured both junior and senior categories for Kata and Shobu Ippon Kumite.

  • JKA WF MALTA at the JKA European Championships 2025

    UNYP Arena in Prague, Czech Republic

    On the 10th of May 2025, top JKA karate practitioners from across Europe gathered at the UNYP Arena in Prague, Czech Republic, to compete in the prestigious 27th JKA European Championships.
    This year’s event showcased fierce competition across multiple categories and age groups, reflecting the technical excellence, discipline, and spirit that define JKA karate.
    We are proud to recognize the outstanding efforts of the seven JKA WF MALTA members who represented our country at this high-level competition: Paul Falzon, Yanes Nocilla, Darren Bianco, Yuki Nocilla, Graziella Rocco, Kurt Buttigieg, and Kraylee Micallef.

  • August 2025 Gasshuku with JKA HQ Instructor Hirose Hikaru Sensei

    It is with great pleasure that we announce that JKA HQ Instructor Hirose Hikaru Sensei, the 2024 All Japan and JKA World Kumite Champion, will be coming to Malta for the first time in August!
    All JKA and non JKA members are welcome to join us on the 30th and 31st of August at De La Salle College.

  • Gasshuku with Izumiya Seizo Sensei 2025

    JKA WF Malta has the privilege of hosting Izumiya Seizo Sensei, 8th Dan and Senior Managing Director of JKA HQ, on the 29th and 30th of November, 2025. Join us for two days of intensive training and learning with one of JKA’s most senior instructors. During these two days, JKA Dan and License Examinations will also be held for those who are eligible.
