On Sunday 30th October 2016, four SKA Athletes were invited, by JKA Italy’s Chief Instructor Sensei Takeshi Naito, to participate in the 7th Annual Italian National JKA Championships which this year took place in Maranello, the beautiful city of Ferrari in Bologna.
SKA representatives competed against Italy’s Top JKA Athletes, resulting in a great achievement for the Maltese contingent with Paul Falzon achieving 1st Place in the Senior Male Kumite Category and 4th Place in the Senior Male Kata Category. Keith Falzon also winning his 2nd Place in the Senior Male Kata Category and 3rd Place in the Senior Male Kumite Category, while Leanne Grech also achieved her 3rd place in the Senior Female Kumite Category.
Congratulations to all four athletes for an excellent performance, their constant commitment, perseverance, attitude and technical ability which could only be achieved by their continuous sacrifice and dedicated training in authentic Karate; and the excellent instruction of SKA Chief Instructor Sensei Edward Aquilina.
SKA would also like to thank JKA Italy for their commendable hospitality and look forward to our next encounter at JKA Italy’s International Gasshuku in Milan in a weeks’ time!
