SKA MALTA in PORTUGAL, March 2017
SKA Black Belts Luke Rocco and Graziella Rocco in photo with Sensei Tatsuya Naka (7th Dan) JKA HQ, Sensei Pacheco (7th Dan) and Sensei Pula (7th Dan) from JKA Portugal
During the 2nd week of March, two SKA Black Belts Luke Rocco and Graziella Rocco travelled to Portugal to participate in a 9-day Training Seminar, between the 11th and 19th of March, with one of the most superb and charismatic JKA Japan Headquarters Instructor, Sensei Tatsuya Naka 7th Dan JKA.
Training sessions were held in various locations in Portugal namely Leiria, Constancia and Lisbon with over 700 participants from Portugal, amongst whom were our SKA Malta representatives as well as Karatekas from Spain, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland. Apart from the 6 regular sessions of the Training Seminar, our members were also invited to join JKA Portugal in an extra session at Club Karate Leiria, and another Instructors Course session held at Sensei Pacheco’s Dojo in Lisbon.

Sensei Naka’s excellent and exciting instruction was focussed on fundamental technique in Kihon, Kata and Kumite, and this was always met with great enthusiasm by all present during his inspirational display of dynamic complexity in Karate technique.
SKA members were once again deeply honoured at having been given the opportunity to join Sensei Naka and JKA Portugal in long Karate conversations over dinner during their stay. The Karate atmosphere, friendship and hospitality were truly commendable.
