  • July 30/31; Gasshuku with renowned Sensei Takeshi Naito (8th Dan JKA)

    JKA WF Malta, in its capacity as the official national representative of JKA in Malta, is very proud to announce that it will be hosting Sensei Takeshi Naito 8th Dan JKA during the last week of July. Sensei Naito, who is chief instructor of JKA Italy, will be holding a seminar on the 30th and 31st of July at the National Sports School in Pembroke.   • Gasshuku July 2024 – Igarashi Sensei

    It is with great pleasure that we announce that JKA HQ Instructor Igarashi Sensei, the 2023 All Japan JKA Kumite Champion, will be coming to Malta for the first time in July! All JKA and non JKA members are welcome to join us on the 20th and 21st of July at De La Salle College.

  • JKA WF Malta at Funakoshi Gichin 16th JKA World Cup

    In October 2024 nine JKA WF Malta members travelled to Japan for two weeks to train with some of the most exceptional Japanese JKA Instructors and Karatekas at the JKA Headquarters Autumn Camp and also to participate at the much awaited Funakoshi Gichin 16th JKA World Cup.

  • Gasshuku with Izumiya Seizo Sensei 2025

    The JKA WF Malta Winter Seminar was held from 28th to 30th November under the guidance of Izumiya Sensei. The seminar brought together participants from all JKA clubs in Malta, along with friends from JKA Portugal, creating a positive atmosphere of unity and shared technical development. Throughout the seminar, emphasis was placed on the accurate execution of fundamental techniques, particularly highlighting the responsibility of instructors to maintain and transmit correct JKA standards. Continuous attention was given to correct posture, balance, and stability in stance, reinforcing the structural foundations required for effective karate practice.

  • 4 JKA WF MALTA members at the 6th JKA Spring Camp in Bad Camberg, Germany

    During the month of March, 4 team members from JKA Nakama and Seishūkan Dojo - 誠修館道場 had the pleasure to train with two exceptional instructors.
    The JKA Spring Camp at Bad Camberg, Germany was led by Hirayama Yuko Sensei (7th Dan) who portrayed a high karate level. The training was focused on both kumite and kata where emphasis was given on correct posture and speed. The members also had the opportunity to join a dojo session with Shimizu Keigo Sensei (5th Dan) at Dojo Yamato Düsseldorf e.V., Germany. Focus was given on the straight projection and direction of power during kumite.

  • JKA WF Malta Chief Instructor Paul Falzon at International Traditional Karate Stage, Inverigo, Italy

    On the 21st – 22nd March 2026, JKA WF Malta Chief Instructor Paul Falzon participated in the international karate stage in Inverigo, Italy lead by Naito Takeshi Sensei (8th Dan JKA and chief instructor of JKA Italy) and Hakizume Kaishi Sensei (4th Dan JKA HQ instructor and current Kata world champion). Several karatekas from around the world came together during this seminar to train hard and grow their karate skills.

  • International JKA Karate Seminar in Malta with Hirayama Sensei

    JKA WF Malta welcomed Hirayama Sensei, 7th Dan JKA Instructor, to Malta from 22–26 July for an exceptional week of traditional JKA Karate training. The programme featured advanced kata sessions for brown and black belts, a dedicated instructors’ class, and an International JKA Karate Seminar attended by 104 karateka from Malta, Italy, England, Sweden and Hungary.
