On Friday the 17th March 2017, 12 SKA Black Belts and 2 SKA Brown Belts accompanied SKA Chief Instructor, Sensei Edward Aquilina to the International JKA Gasshuku held in Cantu, Milan.
SKA KYU Grading, March 2017
On Thursday 29th March 2017, 44 SKA members underwent a grading examination by SKA Chief Instructor Sensei Edward Aquilina, Sensei Kenneth Farrugia, Sensei David Salem Rizzo, Sensei Keith Falzon and Sensei Paul Falzon.

Over the past weeks SKA Black Belt, Sensei Kenneth Farrugia, travelled to West Sussex, UK, for training with highly esteemed instructors Sensei Paul Herbert and Sensei Jess Lavender, from yet another prestigious Shotokan Karate Association in UK – the ASK- Academy of Shotokan Karate.
SKA MALTA Training at World-Renowned Top Dojos in Japan! June 2017
Between the 11th and 20th June, two of our SKA Members travelled from Malta to Tokyo for training with some of the World’s most reknowned JKA Japanese Instructors at Top Dojos in Japan.
SKA MALTA Training in BARCELONA, Spain, June 2017
On Monday 26th June 2017, 2 SKA Members Sensei Keith Falzon and Kyu grade Kimberly Borg joined Shotokan Mu-Shin Dojo in Barcelona, Spain to train with reknowned instructor Sensei Domingo Sanchez Perez.
Training was based on fundamental Kihon leading onto one step Kumite and Kata. Sensei Domingo Sanchez Perez, the Chief Instructor, and also Kumite and Kata Champion in the recent past, constantly displayed powerful dynamic technique and whose students also demonstrated exceptional Budo Karate Spirit.

SKA MALTA in Belgium, July 2017
Over the past weeks, SKA Black Belts Luke Rocco and Graziella Rocco, travelled to Belgium to participate in the ‘24th International JKA Stage Sensei Miyazaki‘ and for training at local Belgian Shotokan Karate Dojos.

In Summer of 2017, SKA Sensei David Salem Rizzo 3rd Dan and Senpai Michelle Salem Rizzo 2nd Dan, travelled to Tokyo, Japan for a unique Honeymoon Training Holiday, an excellent opportunity to train with the world's most renowned Japanese Karate Instructors.

Between the 25th and the 29th of August 2017, 29 SKA-MALTA members attended the International JKA Italy Gasshuku in Vieste, accompanying SKA Chief Instructor Sensei Edward Aquilina, with so far, the biggest number of SKA Maltese Representatives participating abroad.

JKA MALTA SKA celebrate 2017 with Special End of Year Demonstration
On the 21st of December, JKA MALTA SKA celebrated the end of a successful 2017 with a Special End of Year Demonstration. The event was held at the MCAST Upper Gym with SKA members from Paola, Handaq Kenshinkan and Tarxien Nakama Children and Adult Clubs performing to the spirited beats of a live guest performance by the Tama Tnabar Band, a voluntary association empowering people with various difficulties to succeed holistically in Society.
