SKA black belts and 1st Kyus with SKA Chief Instructor Sensei Edward Aquilina, 4th Dan at Malta International Airport

On Tuesday 8th September 2015,  a number of SKA black belts and several 1st Kyus accompanied SKA Chief Instructor Sensei Edward Aquilina, Sensei David Salem Rizzo and Sensei Kenneth Farrugia to London, UK for a week of hard training at London Dojos.

During the first half of our stay in London, SKA joined JKA England members in their weekly training at Sensei Ohta’s Oasis SKC London Dojo. On Wednesday training was headed by Sensei Adel Ismail, 5th Dan JKA, focussing on fundamental technique, basic Kumite and concluded with Wankan and Nijushiho Katas.

Our second session on Thursday was headed by Sensei Paul Steadman, 5th Dan JKA who led a dynamic Kumite session in connection with Kata Wankan.

Our trip this year concluded with the JKA Autumn Spring Course in Crawley with some of the best JKA Instructors from Japan HQ, Sensei Takenori Imura 8th Dan, JKA Belgium’s Sensei Kazuhiro Sawada 7th Dan and JKA England’s Sensei Yoshinobu Ohta 7th Dan.

SKA would like to thank JKA England members for their hospitality during our stay and welcome all JKA members to attend the JKA Malta Gasshuku in 3 weeks time to be held between the 9th and 11th October 2015.
