On the 8th of June 2014, one week after the Stella Maris Demonstration, nine black belts set out to execute another demonstration, this time at a Football Marathon in Aid of the Puttinu Cares Foundation (a non-governmental organization that supports children and adults suffering from cancer).
Arriving early, we set out to look for a good spot for a well-needed stretch in the warm summer sun, on a sun-beaten turf football pitch. We were accompanied by a good number of football and volleyball teams all eager to help out in this honourable charity event.
A hungry crowd and several enthusiastic children welcomed the SKA call as we walked out on stage. Rei, Seiza and off we go! Good strong basic combinations, one step, self-defence, group kata, a taste of our kumite and a much awaited breaking performance, all inspired by good technique, power and fighting spirit – all a must for our association.
It was with great pleasure for SKA to have been part of this Puttinu Cares event and we thank them for giving us the opportunity to help in this noble cause. Looking forward to many future collaborations!
