SKA MALTA – Grading

We would like to congratulate all of our members who successfully passed their Kyu Grading and a special congratulations to Senpai Abigail Bezzina and Senpai Jurgen Curmi who showed exceptional spirit and technique to achieve the special rank of Shodan - First Dan Black Belt. A special event for all 152 members who were present from MCAST Paola Branch, Tarxien SKA Kids, SKA Nakama, SKA Ghaxaq and Handaq SKA Kenshinkan Dojos. Beginners' sessions shall be starting soon. JKA MALTA SKA Training Camp – Malta

Between the 18th and 19th of May 2019, JKA MALTA SKA held its Annual Spring Training Camp with record participation of over 100 members from SKA MCAST Paola, Tarxien SKA Kids, SKA Nakama, SKA Ghaxaq and SKA Kenshinkan Branch Dojos. Training was led by JKA MALTA SKA Chief Instructor Sensei Edward Aquilina, 5th Dan JKA. Dynamic sessions were focussed on developing effectiveness in fundamental Kihon, overlapping into Ippon and Jiyu Kumite combinations and ultimately applying the same mental intent concepts into Kata. SKA Malta Members in UK, July 2019

A great experience for SKA members having the opportunity to participate in an intensive 3 day Karate training camp delivered by Sensei Dave Hazard 7th Dan, Chairman and chief instructor to the Academy of Shotokan Karate (ASK), and Sensei Paul Herbert 6th Dan, Chief instructor and founder at Kiryoku Shotokan Karate Dojo (affiliated to ASK), both having direct link with the late, ever-so inspirational Keinosuke Enoeda Sensei 9th Dan. End of the Year 2019 Special Session

JKA WF MALTA - 1st International JKA Gasshuku - July 2022On the 30th and 31st July, JKA WF Malta held their first International JKA Gasshuku at the National Sports School in Pembroke, greatly anticipated by all after a two-year long wait due to the global pandemic. JKA WF MALTA Members Complete First Aid Course

Last Sunday 23rd October 2022, 12 members from JKA WF MALTA have completed the First Aid Course led by Ms. Danika Formosa, First Aid and CPR instructor. For JKA WF MALTA, maintaining health and safety at all times is of utmost importance. A standard brought about by our members’ sterling commitment to ensuring a safe environment with diligent and timely first aid responders in case of eventual emergency. JKA WF MALTA would like to thank Mr. Shaun Mawdsley from Malta Red Cross for the organisation of the course, and The Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector for sponsoring this course.
