  • International JKA Cup 2019 in Bottrop (Germany) by Hideo Ochi – November 2019

    JKA MALTA SKA would like to congratulate 4 of its members who competed at the renowned JKA Cup in Germany that is held every year by Hideo Ochi Sensei 9th Dan JKA Germany and JKA Europe Chief Instructor.

    Our members fought with pride to represent Malta and JKA MALTA SKA with Paul Falzon winning 2nd place in Men’s Kumite, Leanne Falzon 1st Place Kumite and 2nd place Kata in Females over 30, Yuki Nocilla 1st Place Female Kumite 21- 29 years category and Yanes Nocilla 2nd place in Team Kumite after being selected to fight for one of JKA Germany’s teams.

    JKA MALTA SKA Members in Belgium Between November 23rd and November 24th three JKA MALTA SKA Members traveled to Belgium to train with Ueki Shihan 10th Dan JKA WF Chief Instructor and Ogura Sensei 8th Dan JKA HQ Instructor.   • JKA MALTA SKA Training in Cantu, Milan – November 2019 – Izumiya Sensei 7th Dan JKA and Naitou Sensei 7th Dan JKA

    JKA MALTA SKA Training in Cantu Milan Between November 15th and November 17th a record 38 Members from JKA MALTA SKA traveled to Milan with Sensei Edward Aquilina (JKA Chief Instructor of Malta) for training with the exceptional Izumiya Sensei 7th Dan JKA HQ instructor and Naitou Sensei 7th Dan JKA Italy Chief Instructor.   • JKA WF MALTA at the European Championships in Ghent, Belgium

    On the 6th of April, 4 JKA WF Malta Members had the opportunity to be part of the Team Representing MALTA at the JKA European Championships in Ghent, Belgium! Well done to our members who gave their utmost against many highly experienced fighters. A great learning opportunity for them all!

  • JKA WF Malta at Funakoshi Gichin 16th JKA World Cup

    In October 2024 nine JKA WF Malta members travelled to Japan for two weeks to train with some of the most exceptional Japanese JKA Instructors and Karatekas at the JKA Headquarters Autumn Camp and also to participate at the much awaited Funakoshi Gichin 16th JKA World Cup.

    UNYP Arena in Prague, Czech Republic

    On the 10th of May 2025, top JKA karate practitioners from across Europe gathered at the UNYP Arena in Prague, Czech Republic, to compete in the prestigious 27th JKA European Championships.
    This year’s event showcased fierce competition across multiple categories and age groups, reflecting the technical excellence, discipline, and spirit that define JKA karate.
    We are proud to recognize the outstanding efforts of the seven JKA WF MALTA members who represented our country at this high-level competition: Paul Falzon, Yanes Nocilla, Darren Bianco, Yuki Nocilla, Graziella Rocco, Kurt Buttigieg, and Kraylee Micallef.
